Formula Five - separační vosk-1ks -340g
FORMULA FIVE - a general-purpose release wax that blends carnauba wax - the most durable natural protection - with modern polymers and hydrocarbon waxes. Silicone is added for easy application and facilitates multiple releases even in the most demanding situations. Recommended for use in conjunction with FORMULA FIVE Clean ‘N Glaze to ease the release of parts from gel-coated mold surfaces. It is advisable to use a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution to assist in proper release from the mold.
Porous molds (i.e., plaster or wood) must first be sealed with lacquer or a similar coating. A good surface finish can be achieved using automotive sealants and lacquers. The mold should be completely dry and free of any other release agents before applying FORMULA FIVE Mold Release Wax.
New / refurbished molds
Before use, apply FORMULA FIVE Clean ‘N Glaze according to instructions. Use a clean dry cloth and a thin even coat of FORMULA FIVE release wax on the mold surface. Remove excess wax with a clean dry cloth. Hand polish the waxed surface with a clean Turkish towel when the wax is slightly dry (approximately 10-12 minutes after application). If the wax wipes off easily or forms 'balls' while polishing, FORMULA FIVE Mold Release Wax has not dried sufficiently. Polish to a high gloss; the mold surface should be smooth and streak-free. For proper coverage, apply 2-3 layers. Use alternating rubbing motions during the application of each layer (i.e., up-down, left-right, circular). After application, wait at least one hour before starting laminating.
The best practice for separating parts from the mold depends on the size and shape of the part. In most cases, the product can be lifted from the mold after releasing around the edges. Sometimes it may be necessary to blow air under the product. For large curved parts, it may be necessary to tap the surface with a rubber mallet first.
